Salesforce

Salesforce is the enterprise CRM. Connect it with OAuth to sync contacts both ways.

What you can do

  • Send — create or update a Salesforce Contact by email, with field mapping.
  • Import — pull Contacts from Salesforce into OpenContact.
  • Suppression — set a Contact’s Email Opt Out when they unsubscribe elsewhere.

How to connect

  1. In OpenContact, go to Connections → Salesforce and click Connect.
  2. Authorize OpenContact in the Salesforce login screen (production by default).
  3. OpenContact stores your org’s instance automatically and keeps the token fresh.

Good to know

Salesforce requires a Last Name on new Contacts; if a contact has none, OpenContact uses the email so the record still saves. Imports read the standard Contact object.

In a sync rule

Add Salesforce as a destination and map fields (e.g. first_name → FirstName, last_name → LastName). See Sync rules.
