Connections & integrations

A connection links OpenContact to one of your tools. Connections are the destinations your sync rules push to, and the sources you can pull contacts from.

Two ways to connect

API key — for tools that authenticate with a key (and sometimes an account URL or email). Paste the credentials into the setup form; OpenContact verifies them against the provider and encrypts them before storing. You can update or rotate them anytime.

OAuth — for tools that use a login flow (including HubSpot, Salesforce, AWeber, Constant Contact, Calendly, Google Sheets, and Airtable). Click Connect, authorize OpenContact in the provider’s own screen, and you’re done — nothing to copy or paste. OpenContact keeps the access token fresh automatically.

Inbound setup — lead-source connections such as Custom Webhook and Google Ads Lead Form don’t read from an external account. Configure their field mapping or verification key, then generate an inbound URL on the Webhooks page and give that URL to the sending tool.

What a connection can do

Depending on the tool, a connection supports some or all of:

  • Send contacts out — the connection can be a destination in a sync rule (upsert contacts, add to lists/audiences).
  • Pull contacts in — import the tool’s contacts into OpenContact. See Importing contacts.
  • Receive suppression events — the provider notifies OpenContact when someone unsubscribes/bounces so it can propagate. See Suppression & compliance.
  • Receive new leads — a form, automation tool, or ad platform can POST new contacts to a generated inbound webhook URL.

The catalog

OpenContact connects to email service providers, CRMs, payments, scheduling, data sources, and lead-capture tools. See the full list, with setup steps for each, on the Integrations index:

  • Email providers: Mailjet, Brevo, MailerLite, Mailchimp, Klaviyo, beehiiv, Kit, GetResponse, AWeber, Constant Contact, Ghost
  • CRMs: HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Copper, ActiveCampaign
  • Scheduling: Calendly
  • Data: Google Sheets, Airtable
  • Payments: Stripe
  • Forms: Custom Webhook, Google Ads Lead Form

Managing lists

For each connected tool, OpenContact syncs its lists/audiences (or the CRM’s people filters) so you can target a specific one in a rule, and refreshes them automatically. Connect a provider and let its lists load, then use them as rule destinations or migration targets.
