Send website form submissions to your CRM and newsletter
A signup form usually needs to reach two places: the CRM for sales and the email platform for the newsletter. Doing it with two integrations means two things to maintain. Send it once to OpenContact and route from there.
1. Create a source
In Sources, create one called “Website form”. Copy its ingest URL. The token in the URL is the credential.
2. Add the form
<form data-emailroute>
<input name="email" type="email" required>
<input name="first_name" placeholder="First name">
<button type="submit">Subscribe</button>
</form>
<script src="https://app.opencontact.dev/embed.js"
data-emailroute-url="https://app.opencontact.dev/ingest/YOUR_SOURCE_TOKEN"></script>
Every input name becomes a contact field. email is required, and first_name, last_name, phone, company, country and tags are recognized. New contacts are subscribed, since a submit is an opt-in. An existing unsubscribed contact is never re-subscribed.
3. Route it
Create a sync rule with the trigger “contact created”, then add destinations:
- your email platform, for example a Mailchimp audience or a Brevo list
- your CRM, for example HubSpot or Pipedrive
Two details to know: a Mailchimp destination must target an audience, and HubSpot contacts are global, so there is no list to pick.
4. Test, then switch on
Dry-run the rule on a sample contact. You see which destinations match and which fields would be sent. Nothing is written. Then switch it on.

Use the REST API with an idempotency key so a retry does not run the rule twice. See the developer guide.
